About The Position

DirectHire PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2nd Shift JOB SUMMARY: Supervise production lines in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure employees are working in a safe and productive manner during the shift (3P – 1130p).

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, able to read a tape measure is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process, procedures, and machinery.
  • Basic lift truck operation
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production lines in accordance with plant policies and procedures including the bargaining agreement.
  • Train production employees
  • Ensure operations adhere to company safety standards
  • Ensure all work areas are clean and safe
  • Conduct employee performance reviews
  • Shift scheduling (but not limited to the following):
  • Employee placement based on customer needs
  • Employee cross training
  • Employee breaks
  • Assigning overtime
  • Covering absent employees for next shift
  • Ensuring shift change is smooth and efficient
  • Coordinate production start-up(s), changeover(s) and shut down(s) to utilize personnel and equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure needed repairs are completed in a timely manner with minimum interruption to production.
  • Work closely with Human Resource department to ensure adequate staffing
  • Meet production goals
  • Ensure quality meets specifications, adjust as needed, reject any and all non-conforming.
  • Report any non-conforming produced on your shift to both Quality Control and Plant Manager
  • Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager.
  • Ensure all data entry is correct, close out any open runs from your shift.
  • Make production runs ready for next shift.
  • Assist in production when necessary.
  • Learn how to operate each line when time permits.
