About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high-quality products according to customer commitments and delivery schedules. This role involves ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and quality policies, maximizing yields at the lowest cost, and resolving operational issues. The supervisor is also responsible for training personnel, initiating personnel actions, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate - minimum
  • 5 years of “front line” supervisory experience in a line manufacturing role
  • Understanding of basic machinery (Forklifts, Bandsaws, straightening machines, etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving ability

Nice To Haves

  • AS or BS in Engineering preferred
  • Experience with stainless steel and specialty alloys desirable

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and quality policies and practices are understood and adhered to by all employees and contractors.
  • Determine if product quality meets customer requirements and decide proper disposition of material.
  • Establish and enforce first-class standards of housekeeping.
  • Plan and operate manufacturing processes to produce first-quality product according to schedules required to meet customer commitments and delivery.
  • Maximize yields at the lowest cost in accordance with established schedules and quality standards.
  • Review production reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems cost-effectively and to prevent delays in production.
  • Develop and revise standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with all applicable quality standards and order requirements.
  • Train department personnel.
  • Initiate personnel actions (i.e., promotions, disciplinary, etc.).
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis to determine failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and control systems are maintained in a condition to safely and cost-effectively produce quality products.
