About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of job orders and for the assessment, training, oversight, mentoring, evaluation and discipline of a team of operators as they safely perform manual duties to process and complete quality product for timely distribution to Indium customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years related work experience or prior experience as an Indium Corporation Production Group Leader
  • Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts such as planning, scheduling, inventory management, work flow, and basic lean concepts
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Positive attitude towards work and work environment

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule activities within area of supervision in collaboration with other departments
  • Direct the activities and formally evaluate the individual performance of a team of Operators
  • Maintain functional knowledge of processes within area of supervision and coordinate resources to ensure jobs are completed on time and in accordance with quality requirements
  • Observe, monitor and ensure compliance with all safety requirements and practices, including taking action to stop production if safety is compromised
  • Interact effectively with Indium colleagues, suppliers, customers, and auditors
  • Access computer systems to complete all required documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain accurate records of completed parts and required inventory
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles and promote continuous improvement in productivity and in the elimination of waste
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and management skills to hire, promote, discipline, transfer, and terminate operators
  • Assess Operator abilities, ensure appropriate training, determine competency, maintain training records and monitor Operator development
  • Uphold all policies and procedures and resolve conflict
  • Review and approve time management records
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets containing operational data and be well-versed in interpreting and presenting key performance metrics based on said data
  • Uphold and promote the standards of Indium’s quality management system, including following procedures and work instructions, and recommending improvements
  • Attend training as needed or assigned
