Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing (preferred).
  • 2 years of supervisory experience needed.
  • Experience with Lean Production, for example, 5S principles.
  • Background in electronics and regulated discrete manufacturing environments (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Familiarity with the seven tools of Statistical Process Control.
  • Advanced in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent management and communication skills. Able to adapt management, training, and communication style to the needs of their team or individual employees.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills. Effectively communicates and builds trust with site leadership and other departments. Leverages relationships to advance the needs of the site.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment. Able to drive continuous improvement projects within their own team and area.
  • Candidates must qualify as US Persons, defined as US Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders).

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production and quality of products to ensure defect-free products that meet or exceed customer expectations, on schedule, and to customer requirements.
  • Closely monitor operational performance to meet company goals and objectives using plant metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain tiered reporting and problem-solving processes.
  • Maintain production processes, ensuring minimal machine downtime by ensuring workstations are staffed, work orders and materials are lined up, and set-up times are kept to schedule.
  • Direct and supervise all personnel involved with the production/manufacturing of products.
  • Provide training and development; coach and develop employees within assigned areas, fostering open communication to promote teamwork. Ensure the team is cross-trained to support scheduling flexibility.
  • Plan and direct the workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.
  • Ensure all Quality system procedures and documentation requirements are consistently followed.
  • Ensure all company policies, including workflow and safety, are followed and enforced.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings in accordance with OSHA standards and company policy.
  • Document all training records for production/manufacturing employees to ensure appropriate and mandated training is completed and properly documented.
  • Promote and hold the team accountable for 5S, good manufacturing practices, COS (Cost of Sales), and Lean problem-solving. Participate in and support kaizens and other CI activities.
  • Build and develop a team through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans.
  • Champion employee engagement through regular feedback, recognition, and open communication.
  • Perform other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
