About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to lead and oversee shift operations onsite, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in batch processing, production management, and team development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in batch chemical processing or manufacturing operations
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to lead crews and improve performance.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, DCS/PLC, etc.).
  • Knowledge/experience with process/mechanical equipment, DCS / PLC systems, piping, material handling equipment, heavy equipment etc.
  • Math skills (inc. weights, measures and conversions).
  • Process troubleshooting skill.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/PSM, EPA, and other applicable codes and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, industrial production, and process optimization preferred
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), ISO 9001 standards, and OSHA compliance
  • Strong technical proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify process inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop production employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operating procedures, and quality standards.
  • Conduct 30-60-90-day evaluations, facilitate training, and drive employee engagement and performance improvement.
  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and compliance regulations are met in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies.
  • Conduct safety talks, incident reviews, and risk assessments to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor batch operations and chemical production processes to ensure efficiency, quality control, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Conduct audits, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless operations.
  • Implement process improvements and drive operational excellence.
  • Lead shift handoffs and ensure seamless communication between teams.
  • Work closely with maintenance and production staff to address any operational challenges.
