About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role leads daily quarry production and rail loading operations to meet safety, quality, and volume targets. It involves coordinating train scheduling, material inventory, and shipping logistics, as well as overseeing and coaching team members to promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. The position also includes monitoring equipment performance, collaborating on maintenance planning, and analyzing operational data to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and optimize production processes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to safely lead production and rail operations in an industrial or mining environment
  • Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to operational detail
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage and develop diverse teams
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment, aggregate production processes, and rail logistics
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in all aspects of operations
  • Proven leadership capability in directing teams and managing day-to-day operational priorities
  • Ability to coordinate multiple workflows, including production, maintenance, and transportation logistics
  • Skill in data analysis and performance tracking to drive operational improvements
  • Experience fostering a safety-first culture and reinforcing safe work practices
  • Aptitude for decision-making in dynamic environments with shifting operational demands
  • Minimum of 5 years in aggregate production or at least 3 years in a supervisory role within a related industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and respectfully
  • Ability to maintain composure, present information effectively, and respond to questions professionally
  • Adaptability to dynamic work environments with changing schedules and operational demands
  • Capability to perform work involving site mobility, occasional lifting, and confined space conditions

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily quarry production and rail loading operations to meet safety, quality, and volume targets
  • Coordinate train scheduling, material inventory, and shipping logistics to ensure timely delivery
  • Oversee and coach team members, promoting a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor equipment performance and collaborate on maintenance planning to minimize downtime
  • Analyze operational data to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and optimize production processes
