About The Position

The Production Supervisor will supervise employees in functional areas of Production and is responsible for assisting in ongoing job/program management to ensure company goals and requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to work at this facility.
  • Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for all employees of Tech Ord.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Demonstrated front-line supervisory skills are required.
  • For off-shifts, must have proven ability to effectively be responsible for safe and efficient productions on off-shifts with reduced accessibility to resources and support staff.
  • Employee must have the ability to read and understand manufacturing procedures and have general mathematics aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and become proficient in our internal computer systems and applications.
  • Must have ability to lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes to include understanding of ISO requirements and the ability to implement procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
  • Function Specific RCRA training upon hire.
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees as part of a team and direct/lead employees.
  • Ability to set and establish priorities and multi-task in support of end-result/goal.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university in a field that relates to the position is preferred.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • An understanding or working experience in principles of Lean Manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of production personnel including the pyro lab and energetic materials departments and functional areas during day, night or weekend shifts.
  • Responsible for oversight of attendance, performance management, discipline, ensuring employees receive training, and employee compliance with safety and other policies.
  • Evaluates effective methods of production and implements direction given by Management.
  • Assumes leadership role for all programs/jobs under your direction to ensure safety, efficiency and product integrity.
  • Understands and enforces company policies and procedures governing safety standards and work rules for all employees and leads by example.
  • Evaluates processes, issues, problems and makes recommendations on areas of improvement and implementation of corrective actions.
  • If assigned to day shift, maintains communication with scheduling team to align schedule with production resources, and other groups regarding program operations.
  • Provides input to Engineering staff to write or update procedures.
  • Ensures accountability for accurate documentation to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures neat and orderly work areas are maintained per company Housekeeping policy.
  • If assigned to an off-shift, responsible for security of facility during operations consistent with company policy and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for some hazardous waste management functions. Performs physical waste activities such as labeling and ensuring waste is handled properly under their area of responsibility.
  • Effectively able to handle emergency situations and is a participant on company Emergency Response Team as required.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
