About The Position

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to join their team. This role is crucial in providing leadership and training to production employees, ensuring objectives related to safety, quality, production, packaging, and maintenance are met. The supervisor will coordinate production activities with other departments to achieve goals efficiently and cost-effectively. They will also monitor shift performance, accurately enter production data for KPI tracking, and update communication boards to keep the team informed. This position involves working with team members to improve efficiencies, minimize overtime and expenses, and promote shop floor organization using lean techniques like 5S. The supervisor will act as the first point of contact for operators facing mechanical failures or production issues, directing maintenance for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. They may also conduct tool store inventory reviews and prepare employee work hours for payroll submission. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous Labor Relations experience
  • Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
  • Self-directed team player
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives for Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, and Maintenance.
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Works with the operations team to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned absences.
  • Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Enters production data accurately into the system to measure and monitor KPIs around efficiencies, downtime, inventory, and overall production.
  • Updates communication boards to keep production floor team members informed about safety, quality, and efficiency metrics. Leads employee start-up meetings.
  • Works with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime, and repair expenses, implementing cost-effective systems as necessary.
  • Promotes shop floor organization and plant housekeeping with employees using lean techniques such as 5S.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues; directs maintenance employees to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform preventative maintenance.
  • May conduct tool store inventory reviews to ensure proper tools and/or parts are available for use.
  • Prepares and reviews employees' worked hours for submission to payroll.
