About The Position

Fairbanks Morse Defense is a leading marine defense contractor known for its rapid and effective support of naval power technology. Hunt Valve, a Fairbanks Morse Defense Company, delivers high-performance marine power and propulsion systems. This role is for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor (4pm start) in Salem, OH, combining technical expertise with team leadership. The supervisor will be the primary authority on the floor during 2nd shift, responsible for safety, production schedule adherence, and personnel efficiency. This position requires managing union employees, coordinating with the day shift supervisor, and serving as a technical expert in machining. The candidate must be able to address error codes, adjust offsets, and handle mechanical issues with limited support. Responsibilities include managing the setup and operation of multi-axis lathes and horizontal mills, leading the team to meet production goals, and ensuring high-quality standards and tight tolerances. The supervisor will also manage 3-5 employees in non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection, and storeroom departments, focusing on safety and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or 10+ years equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
1-5 Years (5+ preferred) in a CNC Manufacturing/Engineering Environment.
Must provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship to meet NOFORN requirement.
Ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery.
Ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
