About The Position

The Swing Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, work direction, and hands-on support to production technicians. This role serves as a key communication link between shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory operations while maintaining production schedules and quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, possess or develop a working knowledge of Synthesis and Paste processes, and actively work alongside technicians to support daily operations and resolve issues in real time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5 to 8 years of working in a laboratory, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or related production environment
  • Ability to work from 11:30am - 6:00pm
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production environment.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in Synthesis and Paste processes.
  • Ability to actively work with and support Synthesis and Paste Technicians in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Experienced in training, mentoring, or supervising technical personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or business preferred
  • Previous experience in Synthesis and/or Paste operations, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce regulatory and internal EHS requirements, lead safety meetings, promote a culture of safety and quality, and serve as an emergency incident responder.
  • Supervise chemical operators and shift personnel, assign and prioritize daily work, coordinate training, provide coaching and performance feedback, and support employee development.
  • Monitor Distributed Control Systems (DCS), workflow, productivity, equipment performance, and operating procedures to ensure production goals are met.
  • Identify and resolve process, equipment, and operational issues, coordinating with maintenance, technicians, and laboratory personnel as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for swing shift operations and assist with Synthesis and Paste production activities to support business needs.
  • Maintain accurate batch records, operational logs, and production data to ensure effective communication between shifts.
  • Foster teamwork, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
