About The Position

Join the Terex/Genie team in Redmond, WA as a Production Supervisor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Redmond Operations Team, providing first-level full-scope leadership over several small teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily output in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating the ability to lead teams, interpret blueprints, plan and sequence production, review team and individual performance, conduct inspections, identify problems, and instruct new employees. Requirements

  • Complete understanding of all assembly and sub-assembly processes in the area of assignment (e.g., aluminum, Z45) sufficient to organize and integrate several small work teams, train new team members, examine work results, and optimize utilization.
  • Working knowledge of the production planning, inventory control and planning, and production methods.
  • Working knowledge in the usage of automated production machinery, common hand tools, hand held power tools, fabricating equipment, and portable air tools such as a ratchet.
  • Sufficient human relations skill to conduct one-on-one training, resolve conflict, and achieve harmony with a large group of team members.
  • Sufficient problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as labor and material shortages, plant safety, tool and equipment problems, while maintaining productivity.
  • Ability to perform the various aspects of the job.
  • Sufficient reasoning ability to translate plans into production, troubleshoot material and labor problems, and analyze cost, utilization and quality issues.
  • Ability to review performance.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and read and record detailed measurements, counts, distances, and times.
  • Ability to understand and convey safety to others, and employ continuous quality and just-in-time in the assigned teams.
  • Ability to instruct others.
  • Ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects (20-50 pounds) on an occasional basis.
  • Sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment, make intricate connections, and make precise measurements.
  • Visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials.
  • Auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions.
  • Completion of a high school curriculum or the equivalent through experience.
  • Four years of continuous experience working in an automotive servicing or assembly line environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews production orders to determine types, quantities, variations, specifications, and proposed delivery of products, then schedules and estimates team member hours and materials needed to complete assignments.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes, machine and plant capability, and human resources requirements.
  • Reviews production reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to continually minimize costs and enhance productivity and quality.
  • Inspects machines to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, and job orders such as engineering change notices to team members, makes and participates in assignments, and conducts inspections of work.
  • Develops measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality.
  • Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment and tools that improve work flow, efficiency, and team member safety.
  • Coordinates production requirements with material handling and participates in the “just-in-time” philosophy.
  • Trains new team members including work team leaders.
  • Communicates company philosophies and policies, teaches and demonstrates work routines, and documents performance.
  • Maintains records of day-to-day activity including time and materials, process steps, and occurrences.
  • May set up and/or verify settings on production machines.
  • Initiates communications on employee relations matters such as promotions, transfers, attendance, discipline, work conditions, and personal assistance.
  • Resolves team member grievances and problems, facilitating solutions or forwarding situations to higher authority.
  • Conducts review of team leader and team member performance.
  • Oversees and participates in the inspection of materials used in the manufacture Terex AWP products.
  • Enters and retrieves production information onto a computerized data entry screen or a custom-designed form.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
