About The Position

James Hardie is a leader in exterior home and outdoor living solutions. This role is responsible for overseeing and assisting Shift Leaders, Operators, and Production Assistants to ensure organizational commitments regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met. The position collaborates with other departments to identify and resolve problems within the manufacturing environment, enforces company policies and procedures, resolves member conflict, and fosters an engaged workforce. The initial schedule is Saturday-Wednesday, 5:30 PM - 3:30 AM, with a transition to a 4x4 schedule (6 PM - 6 AM) in the coming months.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (technical or related field) preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience with required supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of production equipment, quality standards, and safety practices
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to thrive on a night shift rotational schedule

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Shift Leaders, Operators, and Production Assistants to ensure consistent achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Manage daily production activities, coordinate resources, and collaborate across departments to resolve operational issues and improve processes.
  • Lead and engage production teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure safety standards, company policies, and quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Oversee equipment set-ups, start-ups, and efficient machine operation.
  • Monitor product quality, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and partner with Maintenance on repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Manage production schedules, documentation, and shift communication.
  • Provide training, coaching, and conflict resolution to support team development.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
