About The Position

Oversee the operations and employees within the Production Department. Work closely with the Production Control Department to schedule the completion of custom orders and manufacturing work orders.

Requirements

High School diploma or acceptable equivalent.
High mechanical / technical aptitude.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Management / Supervisory skills.
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and to multi-task.
Ability to speak, read and understand English.
Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.
Regular attendance is an essential element of the job. Unplanned absences have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish the effectiveness of the company.

Nice To Haves

Vocational education in Welding or Machining processes or similar preferred.
3-5 years of Production Supervisor experience or similar preferred experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor Production to assure completion of scheduled customer orders and manufacturing work orders.
Work with Production Control to establish customer order completion and shipment.
Coordinate with Department Group Leaders to provide training and guidance for Production employees.
Review or delegate review of Custom BTH customer orders requiring requisition from Purchasing or other.
Write and update Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs) for Production processes.
Work with other departments within the company regarding issues related to Production.
Handle disciplinary issues with Production.
Enforce the compliance of Production employees with shop safety requirements.
Complete performance appraisal reviews for employees within Production.
Identify methods and processes to increase efficiency of the operations within Production.
Investigate and correct Production related errors.
Assure that Production is achieving company standards for finished product quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
Perform other duties as requested by company management.
