About The Position

AGF is seeking a Production Supervisor for their evening shift at their shop in Kitchener. The role involves supervising and coordinating daily production activities related to reinforcing steel (rebar), including cutting, bending, and loading. The supervisor will monitor employee performance, ensure production meets specifications and deadlines, and enforce health and safety regulations. This position requires liaising with other departments to resolve issues, managing material flow and inventory, and conducting quality assurance checks. The role also emphasizes operating within lean manufacturing principles, promoting teamwork and a safety culture, and completing necessary reports.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or industrial setting;
  • Experience in steel, metal, rebar manufacturing, construction products or a related industry;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, production software);

Nice To Haves

  • Valid forklift certification and/or crane experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, including cutting, bending, and loading of reinforcing steel (rebar);
  • Monitor employee performance, provide direction, support training, and enforce discipline when necessary;
  • Ensure production meets job specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines;
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS);
  • Liaise with engineering/drafting, logistics, and project management to resolve fabrication issues or schedule conflicts;
  • Coordinate material flow, inventory checks, and ensure that raw materials and consumables are stocked;
  • Conduct inspections and be responsible for QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory standards;
  • Operate within lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency;
  • Promote teamwork, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor;
  • Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and timekeeping as required.
