About The Position

The Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate daily production schedules to meet quality and output goals. This role ensures production schedules and delivery commitments are understood and met. The supervisor will monitor employee performance, address underperformance, and resolve workplace disputes constructively. They will monitor workflow and allocate resources to maximize productivity and efficiency, ensuring all team members comply with safety regulations and use required PPE at all times. The role involves applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce waste, and utilizing production and time management software to track productivity, identify bottlenecks, and maintain schedules. Responsibilities also include monitoring profiles, paint thickness, adhesion, curing, and finish quality, as well as blast and paint equipment status and performance. The supervisor will uphold quality assurance standards, manage nonconformance issues proactively, and ensure coatings are applied according to customer specifications, engineering requirements, and industry standards. Mentoring and developing team members through coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action is also key. The role includes conducting safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations, and reviewing/maintaining travelers/routers, work orders, quality documentation, and inspection records. Investigating and resolving paint defects, non-conformances, and rework issues, enforcing compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, and promoting safe handling, storage, and disposal of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials are also part of the duties. Collaboration with cross-functional departments including QA, logistics, and maintenance, and fostering a positive and cooperative team environment by addressing conflict and promoting collaboration are expected. Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities include compliance with all NOV standards and policies, and compliance with all facility guidelines. Any other work as defined by your supervisor may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, industrial coatings, and paint application methods.
  • Ability to read production schedules, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective clothing.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean practices, Six Sigma tools, or other improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in software such as SAP, Oracle, or other production/time management platforms.
  • Proven experience managing medium to large teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operation.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, employee relations, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business preferred.
  • Experience with structural steel, tower fabrication, or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
