About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a production staff in one of the following departments: stamping, spinning, CNC, or welding departments. This role involves meeting company and production priorities, ensuring quality compliance, and optimizing production outputs in a safe environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing department demands and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Motivational with strong leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours as needed, up to 10 hours per day.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to shift priorities quickly as needed within the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Prior experience working in the prospective department such as CNC, Stamping, Robotic Welding.
  • Metal Stamping and assembly experience with training in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Supervising in the Union Automotive Manufacturing Environment
  • PLEX 5S

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production staff to enforce company values and accountability.
  • Monitor production rates and downtime, identifying solutions to improve performance and OEE.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through tracking and process improvements.
  • Address and resolve quality non-conformances following the company containment policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and approve department’s hours and vacations in ADP.
  • Coach employees, reinforce expectations, recognize positive performance, and address attendance and performance concerns consistently.
  • Maintain employee training and qualification records, identify skill gaps, and ensure employees are qualified before performing assigned work.
  • Escalate equipment, tooling, material, quality, or staffing constraints promptly and coordinate support through timely resolution.
  • Lead structured shift handoffs covering production status, quality holds, equipment conditions, staffing, material shortages, and open action items.
  • Lead daily GEMBA walk for assigned department.
  • Conduct routine floor walks and layered process audits to verify safety, quality, housekeeping, standardized work, and operational discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, including PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, incident reporting, and correction of unsafe conditions.
