About The Position

Xylem is seeking a results‑driven Production Supervisor to lead third‑shift operations within our fabrication and welding department, supporting the manufacture of large‑scale wastewater treatment equipment using carbon and stainless steel. This role is critical to driving lean manufacturing excellence, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workforce performance. This is not a hands‑off supervisory role. You will directly influence throughput, waste reduction, safety performance, and team engagement on the shop floor. As the senior leader on third shift, you will own operational execution, continuous improvement, and frontline leadership during one of the most critical production windows.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 1+ year of experience in supervisory role
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Lean initiatives that improve flow, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to drive quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory and material flow to prevent downtime and support production schedules.
  • Supervise and develop a team of ~25 hourly employees.
  • Execute daily production plans while meeting quality, safety, and delivery targets.
  • Lead shift start‑ups, daily huddles, and communicate performance updates.
  • Ensure equipment, tooling, and work areas support continuous production.
  • Enforce safety standards and promote a culture of accountability and responsibility.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure quality checks are followed and corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Coach performance, conduct evaluations, and support employee development.
  • Build a collaborative, high‑engagement team culture.
  • Resolve employee issues constructively and support change initiatives.
  • Support budget adherence and operational cost control.
  • Use data, ERP systems, and performance metrics to support decision‑making.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and Lean manufacturing trends.
