Become part of our great team as a... The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day running of production processes in the assigned area. This position will plan and organize staff tasks and shifts, appraise performance, coach, counsel and discipline staff as needed. The Production Supervisor will enforce systems, policies and procedures, track and report on KPI’s and will partner with other departments such as, quality, safety and human resources to ensure compliance in his/her assigned areas. This is a 12-hours weekend shift, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11:00 p.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Requirements

  • Three years related supervisory experience.
  • Technical skills to include machine start-up and corrective actions.

Nice To Haves

  • Labor relations experience preferred.
  • BS/BA preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all production employees in assigned department(s)/shift, including motivating and disciplining.
  • Assigns and directs work, coaches, evaluates and appraises; ensures effective labor relations.
  • Creates and maintains an ethical and non-discriminatory work environment.
  • Creates and maintains effective lines of communication and effectively manages conflict.
  • Assures that Department Shift meets objectives for quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Works effectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Timely arrival and regular attendance at work.
  • Ensures that department/shift maintains Productivity KPI's by ensuring standardized output and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure that customer orders are processed according to scheduled ship dates.
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering groups to ensure proper functioning of production equipment and to minimize downtime.
  • Ensures that daily reporting of production outputs is completed timely and submitted to Production Manager Daily.
  • Ensure that department complies with all safety rules and procedures, as well as good housekeeping within the plant, in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, and GMPs.
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to Department Manager and Safety Manager.
  • Reports all incidents, accidents and/or near misses to Department Manager and Safety Manager.
  • Ensures that self and department staff are performing tasks within the scope of quality guidelines.
  • Reports any deviations or non-conformances immediately to QA and Department Manager.
  • Ensures that all tasks are performed in accordance with ISO standards, Work Instructions, SOP's, cGMP and company policy.
  • Reviews and recommends new or enhanced procedures and/or processes to maximize efficiency and to continuously improve quality of product produced.
  • Creates work instructions that satisfy Quality system requirements.
