About The Position

Custom Marine, Inc. is hiring a Supervisor on our 3rd Shift. This role is the first line of responsibility for production personnel, coordinating personal time and serving as the first point of contact for personnel issues. The Supervisor is responsible for consistent and accurate shift-to-shift communication, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and ensuring all safety instructions are followed. Key areas of focus include the safety, quality, cost, and delivery of the assigned shift. The position requires a working knowledge of production processes and involves ensuring new employees are properly trained, including safety standards, and managing cross-training across the shift. Regular team meetings, including safety topics, are expected. The Supervisor will support the Plant Manager with special projects, complete daily reports, maintain logs, and ensure work is performed in a quality and timely manner. Responsibilities also include recording downtime and scrap, determining team efficiency, reviewing production schedules, coordinating manufacturing activities, and managing the time and attendance system. Direct supervision of production personnel, including disciplinary actions, employee performance evaluations, and policy enforcement, is a core duty. Troubleshooting machine and tooling issues is also required. The role demands the ability to function effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, demonstrating leadership by example with a "roll up the shirtsleeves" management style and work ethic. Excellent leadership skills are essential, with the ability to motivate, empower, and promote a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • As least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Team -oriented, collaborative, and flexible.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability as a leader of hourly operators.
  • Ability to function effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Leadership by example, “roll up the shirtsleeves” management style and work ethic.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate empower and promote a positive team environment.
