About The Position

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team at our Winnipeg, MB bakery facility. As a Production Supervisor, you will be accountable for leading daily production operations, ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing performance, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. This role plays a critical part in delivering operational excellence, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating production teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including rotating shifts, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Food manufacturing or bakery industry experience supervising unionized employees.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and production reporting systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and communication skills in a multilingual or ESL work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production teams to achieve daily safety, quality, productivity, and service objectives.
  • Supervise and develop unionized employees through coaching, performance feedback, and goal setting.
  • Coordinate production activities and scheduling to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor labor, material, and equipment performance while driving waste reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, quality assurance, and health and safety standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement, sustainability, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Bakery Management, R&D, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance, to support business goals.
