About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This position leads and coordinates plant operations in a quarry environment, ensuring safe and efficient production of aggregates materials to meet targets. It involves monitoring and optimizing the performance of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment, partnering with maintenance to address breakdowns and minimize downtime. The role drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, material quality, and cost efficiency across plant operations. Additionally, it requires maintaining accurate production, inventory, and shift reports, ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations and company standards. The position also promotes a strong safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices, conducting inspections, and leading by example, while providing direction and support to plant personnel, fostering teamwork, accountability, and operational discipline.

Requirements

  • Experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of crushing, screening, conveying systems, and mobile or stationary plant equipment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead crews in a high-production quarry environment
  • Ability to interpret production data, identify trends, and make real-time operational decisions
  • Solid understanding of safety standards and regulations (MSHA experience preferred)
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, outdoor operation
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, and operations teams
