About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily metal fabrication and welding operations while promoting a culture of safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork. This position supervises production employees, coordinates workflow, and ensures fabrication and welding schedules are completed efficiently, safely, and to quality standards. As a key member of the manufacturing leadership team, the Production Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership within a fast-paced fabrication environment, supporting welders, fabricators, and production personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in metal fabrication, welding processes, workforce development, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, and shop operations.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
Ability to work in a drug-free workplace and pass required screenings.

Experience supervising fabrication, welding, or heavy manufacturing operations.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of quality standards, weld inspections, and fabrication best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise welders, fabricators, and production employees to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
Coordinate daily workflow, staffing, and production schedules within the metal fabrication and welding departments.
Monitor fabrication and welding operations to ensure compliance with specifications, quality requirements, and production deadlines.
Ensure proper implementation of welding procedures, fabrication standards, and quality control processes.
Promote and enforce all company safety policies, including safe operation of welding and fabrication equipment.
Train, coach, and develop employees on welding techniques, fabrication processes, equipment operation, and safety practices.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues involving fabrication, welding, materials, and production flow.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve manufacturing processes and resolve production challenges.
Conduct routine inspections of fabricated components and finished products to verify quality standards are met.
Manage employee performance, attendance, timecard approvals, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
Ensure materials, tooling, consumables, and equipment are available to support production requirements.
Maintain production, labor, quality, and operational records and prepare reports as needed.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, waste reduction efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
