About The Position

This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. We are not currently offering visa sponsorship for this role. The role involves managing the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing process to ensure safety and quality practices are maximized. It also includes managing the employment and training of production staff, overseeing process flow, and working with the team to continually improve processes. The supervisor will develop and implement department policies, resolve conflicts, collect performance data, and hold shift operators responsible for standards. Responsibilities also include conducting interviews, performance reviews, and managing work schedules. The ability to read customer drawings and follow specifications is essential, as is adherence to MicroLumen’s procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent which includes having the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Yellow Belt/Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certification is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Good hand dexterity to handle and use micrometers.
  • Must be able to work in a room with temperature variation.
  • Very high customer concern is needed in this area.
  • Ability to interpret dimensions from hand-held micrometers.
  • Ability to follow very detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain quality.
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
  • Must be flexible in working hours.
  • Judgment is required to know when ovens and other equipment are malfunctioning.
  • Judgment is required to modify production parameters if production run is in danger of being out of specification.
  • Care is required to avoid minor burns.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve problems effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of quality control or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in machine troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing process to ensure that safety and quality practices are maximized.
  • Manage the employment and training of production staff, to include evaluation and motivation to achieve peak productivity.
  • Manage the process flow of products, to include scheduling runs, to maximize the production capability.
  • Work with team to continually improve processes within department.
  • Develop and oversee implementation and administration of department policies, systems and procedures.
  • Resolves conflict on the floor and will perform all written warnings.
  • Collects performance data and prepares reports for management.
  • Holds shift operators responsible for department standards and company policies.
  • Responsible for conducting interviews, performance reviews, and work schedules.
  • Capable of reading customer drawings and following specifications on them.
  • Following MicroLumen’s procedures is essential.
