Production Supervisor
About The Position
Firestone Airide specializes in air spring manufacturing and technology with a history of more than 80 years of research and development on technologically advanced air springs for the global marketplace. Firestone engineers air springs and related products for commercial trucks and trailers, cars, sport utility vehicles, light trucks, mini vans, motor homes, buses, agricultural equipment, rail and industrial applications. This role manages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. It also involves liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources, and planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Supervises support roles with responsibility for performance review/management and training
- Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports achievement of goals for team
- Leverages prior experience to solve issues using latitude of existing guidelines, also recommending changes within specialization policies/procedures
- Works closely with specialization manager
- Communicates regularly with management and infrequently with executive leadership
- Other duties as assigned
