About The Position

Responsible for all production and packaging activities as required to safely produce quality products with the most efficient use of labor and materials on the appropriate/scheduled shifts and lines. This role involves supervising a team of 100 or more direct reports, including non-supervisory leads. The position requires carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving employee issues. A solid working knowledge of SQF and GMP policies and procedures, SAP processes, OSHA/MiOSHA regulations, HFS HPS/LEAN tools, and Microsoft Office is essential. The supervisor will direct the conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost, control raw material formula consistency, monitor inventory rotation, and maintain a 5S environment. Responsibilities also include scheduling and approving production employee work hours, investigating scheduling and payroll issues, and ensuring compliance with customer service and Company standards. The role involves reviewing production orders, planning operations, establishing priorities, and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays. Inspecting equipment, resolving employee complaints, handling disciplinary actions, and training employees are also key duties. The supervisor must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, and adhere to Company rules and policies. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Process a solid working knowledge of SQF and GMP policies and procedures, SAP processes, OSHA/MiOSHA regulations, HFS HPS/LEAN tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Maker’s Pride procurement, products, and production processes.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP.

  • Two-year college degree in business or related field required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Resolve employee complaints or submit unsettled complaints to the Employee & Community Relations Manager for action.
  • Handle all disciplinary actions and employee disputes.
  • Train, develop and evaluate all employees to meet future needs.
  • Attend meetings; make presentations, etc. as needed.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
  • Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law.
  • Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
