About The Position

Dura-Line is hiring a Production Supervisor in Elyria, Ohio. This role is critical within Plant Operations and requires strong leadership skills to coach, mentor, and motivate the team. The ideal candidate will determine and implement best practices on the shift. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground, engaging, and involved leadership role. The Production Supervisor will lead by example and ensure targets are met in order of priority: safety, quality, service, cost, and production. Problem-solving skills are key. Requirements

• Commitment to being a reliable and punctual team player
• Approximately 3-5+ years of production experience in manufacturing roles, having direct reports and shop floor accountability
• Experience with scrap management, safety behaviors, and quality controls increasing site efficiency, employee engagement, and turnover reduction
• Strong leadership skills, adaptability in a dynamic environment, and the ability to establish priorities with a sense of urgency
• Familiar with workforce scheduling, overtime management, and other labor deployment practices
• Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines, demonstrating an ability to prioritize between what is urgent and what is important
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to complete required daily and monthly reports on attendance, machine efficiency, scrap, process improvement, etc.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience working in a lean manufacturing plant (5S, tier meetings, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, Gemba walk, lead standard work) is a plus
• ERP/SAP experience is a plus!
• Associate degree or higher preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of daily operations such as staffing, quality control, and schedule adherence
• Hold the team accountable for following established procedures and conforming to conduct standards.
• Be an enabler for the team to drive process improvements.
• Ensure effective employee relations
• Balance quality, safety, morale, productivity, and cost to achieve positive results in all areas
• Responsible for the effective training, qualification, proficiency, and overall performance management of employees
• Build a team that is dedicated and committed to excellence, with open communication, where all team members have a voice
• Identify opportunities for improvements and speak up on the challenges and opportunities
