About The Position

The Plant Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity across multiple production departments. This role oversees 5–7 Production Team Leads with a total span of control of approximately 30 employees. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, confident decision-maker, and a leader who develops people while holding the team to high performance standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or a similar production environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and holding others accountable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time on the production flow
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, including 1+ year in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in production software, reporting tools, or ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership to Production Team Leads and line-level team members
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team leads into stronger leaders and problem solvers
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Conduct daily shift huddles, assign tasks, and communicate production priorities
  • Ensure production meets weekly, daily, and hourly output goals with consistent follow-up and adjustment
  • Monitor workflow across multiple departments and balance resources as needed
  • Ensure employee adherence to standard work, safety procedures, and quality expectations
  • Troubleshoot production issues quickly and implement corrective actions
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve flow, and increase efficiency
  • Lead and participate in improvement events and problem-solving activities
  • Utilize data, metrics and visual management to drive performance
  • Support and encourage 5S practices
  • Track and report performance metrics including output, labor, scrap and downtime
  • Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) for documentation, communication and reporting.
  • Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring, onboarding and training efforts
