About The Position

Responsible for accomplishing production and plant objectives relating to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Primary responsibilities will include planning, leading, assigning, monitoring and evaluating the work of Team Leaders and Associates. The Supervisor will be responsible for the selection and development of Associates to ensure that departmental goals and continuous improvement objectives are met. The Production Supervisor will hire, train, and manage Associates to ensure a safe operation and make certain that proper processes and procedures are followed. The Production Supervisor will uphold quality expectations and ensure optimal productivity within the department is achieved.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and Quality Programs.
  • Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook and should have prior exposure to Company ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates performance objectives (safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, training, etc.) to Associates and follows-up to ensure that these objectives are being obtained
  • Responsible for obtaining all performance objectives including, but not limited to productivity, quality, safety, order completions, housekeeping, continuous improvement
  • Communicates in verbal and written format with internal and external customers with regards to order completion, customer satisfaction, quality, etc.,
  • Trains and develops Associates and works with Human Resources to communicate any training needs that require external support
  • Evaluates written data such as job orders, product specifications and general notes and prepares his/her Associates for meeting all of these job specific requirements. This may require special training for individuals or the entire workforce.
  • Plans daily and weekly production buckets and delegates and allocates resources so that all productivity and order completions are being met as required
  • Confers with production Associates to resolve problems affecting production requirements and ensures that all Associates have the tools necessary to meet their objectives. Attends production meetings and provides accurate account of daily issues impacting productivity and order completions, provides the group with all quality concerns, and updates the group on what actions are needed to improve current conditions, if so required
  • Maintains professional levels of staff awareness in supervision, and production and inventory control
  • Monitors the outgoing quality of all products, verifies quality, and performs audits on outgoing product to ensure that product conforms to specifications
  • Monitors order completions and ensure that all Associates take an active role in making sure that customer orders are completed on time
  • Ensures production flow is continually reviewed and improved and that time studies and line balancing activities are initiated as required
  • Determines necessary equipment to reduce cycle times while increasing productivity and quality.
  • Participates in lean events and strives to build a culture of continuous improvement with a strong emphasis being placed on prevention

  • Manages and lead Associates including the overall direction of hourly Associates and Team Leaders in assigned productions area. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. Carries out Managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures. Bring unsafe acts and conditions to the attention of the manager. Correct hazards and unsafe conditions. Train other associates in safe work practices. Investigate accidents, near-accidents, and potential hazards. Actively participates in housekeeping activities and in the safety and health program.
