About The Position

Protein Conversion Supervisor At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. Pilgrim’s is seeking a Protein Conversion Supervisor to lead and facilitate operations within a pet food ingredient and protein conversion facility. This role oversees day-to-day conversion and rendering operations to achieve production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, sanitation, animal by-product handling, and environmental compliance. The supervisor will lead and engage hourly partners, promote positive employee morale, and serve as a key liaison between hourly teams and upper management to ensure operational objectives are clearly communicated and achieved. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years in poultry, food manufacturing, or management is required.
  • Effective communication both orally and in writing, capable of independent decision making, must have basic computer knowledge, ability to manage multiple priorities, good math skills and basic mechanical knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree in related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily protein conversion operations to meet production goals while ensuring safety, quality, sanitation, and environmental compliance across all processes.
  • Lead, coach, and engage hourly partners, promoting positive employee morale, adherence to policies, and a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between hourly partners and upper management, effectively communicating operational priorities, performance expectations, and company objectives.
  • Ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met by maintaining product quality standards, monitoring specifications, and addressing deviations promptly.
  • Monitor production data, yields, downtime, and labor efficiency, using analysis to drive process improvements, cost control, and productivity enhancements.
  • Enforce safety programs and best practices, conduct audits and incident investigations, and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA guidelines, and food/feed safety standards.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Operations Team.
