About The Position

This position is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and managing daily production operations to meet operational goals. The role involves monitoring and evaluating processes for quality and efficiency, inspecting for defects, and assisting with production planning to meet targets and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, the supervisor will address associate performance, analyze departmental reports, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and participate in onboarding and training. The role also requires coordinating with stakeholders, supporting business plans, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and adaptability.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (for example, logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry) and computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Packaging experience within a related environment (for example, dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing).
  • Supervisory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring associates use appropriate safety equipment and adhere to safety standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, including ensuring floors are free of debris, equipment is operational and clean, and hazards are promptly removed.
  • Request and coordinate materials, supplies, parts, and repair services as needed to support operations.
  • Manage daily production area operations by planning, scheduling, and assigning work to meet operational goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes, and practices to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to identify defects, deficiencies, or malfunctions and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Assist with production sequence planning to meet production targets and deliver superior customer service.
  • Ensure timely identification and resolution of associate performance concerns through coaching and feedback.
  • Complete, review, and analyze departmental reports to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and sustain a continuous improvement and Lean culture by documenting, implementing, and standardizing new and improved processes.
  • Participate in new hire onboarding and provide ongoing training to support associate development.
  • Provide process improvement guidance related to waste reduction, quality management, and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support business plans and initiatives aligned with customer and organizational needs by communicating goals and objectives, building accountability, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability while promoting continuous learning.
