About The Position

The Production Supervisor III is responsible for managing a team of 15-25 hourly team members in a union environment. This role operates on a 2-2-3 rotating 12-hour schedule and requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The supervisor will lead by example, ensure adherence to all rules and standards, and provide training and guidance to team members. Key competencies for success include a passion for excellence, openness to innovation and change, and influential communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Automotive glass experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety, health, and environmental rules and lead by example.
  • Ensure product quality meets internal and external specifications.
  • Maintain and operate equipment following procedures and best practices as defined in the control plan.
  • Conduct process and product audits according to the work instructions.
  • Lead change-over following proper set-up procedure according to work instructions.
  • Turn around any set asides and hold activity in a timely manner.
  • Communicate concerns, improvements, and general information to the line leader.
  • Troubleshoot and solve manufacturing problems in the operations.
  • Provide support to the process improver and line leader in pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Fulfill assignments/tasks given by line leader.
  • Actively participate in area problem-solving teams and other groups as necessary to achieve production goals.
  • Check inventories and schedule.
  • Plan and communicate production needs to the team leaders to ensure all production requirements are met and ensure a good pass down before each shift.
  • Troubleshoot/problem-solve manufacturing problems in the CBG/Furnace operations.
  • Provide training and guidance/direction to team members according to procedures and best practices to achieve short and long-term goals.
  • Coordinate 5S and housekeeping duties to maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness.
  • Audit employee time records using Kronos and correct as needed.
  • Administer progressive discipline as needed in compliance with the facility work rules and labor agreement.
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
