About The Position

The Production Supervisor II is responsible for overseeing daily shift operations. This role ensures that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The Supervisor leads a team of packaging operators, material handlers, and production staff, and is a key liaison between hourly employees and management. Employees at Akro-Mils are responsible for making good quality products to exceed customer expectations and have the authority and responsibility to initiate recommendations to resolve problems and continuously improve the Quality Management system. Total Quality Management involves all employees at Akro-Mils to be dedicated to participating in improving processes, products, and culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees, coworkers, and supervision of organization.
  • Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Strong conflict management / conflict resolution skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned production lines or shifts within the injection molding department.
  • Monitor and coordinate production activities to meet or exceed quality, safety, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure all machines are running at optimal performance and escalate technical issues as needed to maintenance or process technicians.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by enforcing safety procedures, conducting audits, and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production staff through daily communication, performance feedback, and training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and addressing areas of inefficiency, waste, or process variation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, planning, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
  • Complete shift reports, maintain accurate production records, and communicate performance metrics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production problems and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in employee scheduling, attendance tracking, and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.
