About The Position

The Production Superintendent leads our Prepared Foods operations on 2nd shift. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The Production Superintendent directs production and processing supervisors within a single department across multiple shifts or several departments on a single shift. This leader ensures cost‑effective, on‑time manufacturing of high‑quality products while fostering a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience in a food or poultry processing facility, including at least one year of directly related experience.
  • Effective communication both orally and in writing.
  • Capable of independent decision making.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead processing operations and personnel to meet established production, quality control, and cost standards.
  • Oversee short-term operational planning, including shift scheduling, material requisition, machine loading, equipment maintenance, and grievance resolution.
  • Coordinate with other plant functions to support output, productivity, and quality goals.
  • Select, organize, train, and motivate the processing workforce to achieve production schedules at optimal productivity and cost levels.
  • Recommend improvements to processing flow, methods, and operating procedures to eliminate issues and enhance product quality.
  • Identify and recommend machine or equipment modifications to improve processing efficiency and product quality.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Serve as a key liaison between USDA personnel and plant operations.
  • Coordinate production activities between the plant, grow-out operations, and other facilities as needed.
