About The Position

Plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. Improves production methods and determines manufacturing capacity. Fabricates, modifies and evaluates manufacturing processes such as assembly and material handling. May assist with time and cost estimates. Collaborates with other engineering groups to review drawings and designs during the product development process. Develops and implements process improvements to meet quality standards and solves manufacturing problems. Creates necessary documentation and aides in communication to personnel. Studies and makes recommendations for manufacturing facility layout regarding items such as sequence of operations, equipment layout and utilization and other related items. Researches new manufacturing methods, equipment and other manufacturing technologies and makes recommendations for implementation. Serves as a resource for answering and solving more complex technical questions related to manufacturing and quality processes and proactively addresses resource issues to ensure that project timelines are met. Ensures that the organization’s processes and equipment comply with all safety laws and regulations. Analyzes current processes, procedures and systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job. Recommends whether or not proposed changes or improvements be implemented. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 0-3+ years related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership
  • Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to address customer issues and partner on resolution
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides
  • In-depth understanding and demonstrated competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and other engineering software and databases
  • Ability to create, read and modify product print
  • Fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Fundamental knowledge of welding, plating, die-casting, injection molding, stamping/cold forming, heat treatment process, fastener torque and other related skills
  • Ability to effectively apply the PDCA process to identify potential process improvements
  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in solving problems in a timely manner
