  • Prior experience in precision assembly, relay manufacturing, clean room manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or similar high-detail production environment.
  • Experience using small hand tools, tweezers, shims, measurement tools, or precision test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to work with and mechanically manipulate small relay components under 10X–20X stereo magnification using small tools, tweezers, flat shims, and seal force gram gauges.
  • Learn to operate relay adjust-test stations to adjust electrical performance parameters by mechanically manipulating and tuning contact brackets, movable blades, contact gaps, pick-up/drop-out voltages, contact bounce and lag, contact pressures, and overtravel.
  • Learn how to magnetize relay permanent magnets and set transfer voltages at adjustment stations within required specifications.
  • Re-magnetize and fine-tune relay performance parameters, as required, to ensure compliance with build specifications.
  • Study and become familiar with adjustment processes and procedures for a wide variety of custom and QPL relay topologies.
  • Fabricate certain relay assemblies, which may include contact assembly, first and second framing, vacuum baking, enclosure pressing, and preliminary electrical testing.
  • Perform the micro-clean process, as required and applicable, for space-grade relays.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow detailed work instructions, specifications, and process documentation.
  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and consistency while performing repetitive and highly detailed work.
