About The Position

This position is assigned to operate pelleting equipment within established guidelines for efficiency, safety, product quality food safety and customer service. Equipment will vary and be unique to individual plants. The operator must be knowledgeable in the pelleting requirements and properly document the production process as required by Quality and Food Safety procedures. This position follows a rotating schedule, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Be able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
  • Must be able to work in various weather and environmental conditions.
  • Be able to climb catwalks, stairs and ladders to check feed & ingredient bins
  • Must be able to perform basic math operations: add, subtract, multiply, divide
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, write and speak the English language
  • Must be physically active and mobile throughout the shift
  • Required to be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is operating and maintained properly, so that product flows through the process to maximize production requirements.
  • Work with management and production operators to ensure quality, food safety and customer service requirements are achieved.
  • Verify sequencing of products for efficiency and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete required daily production records.
  • Provide back up to other positions in the plant to cover absences, vacations or heavy workload.
  • Attend all safety huddles and safety meetings and actively participate in discussion and help identify ways to improve safety.
  • Attend and actively participate in other staff meetings regarding Quality and Food Safety, Lean manufacturing, customer service, annual training or other topics.
  • Ensure housekeeping of your work area and other assigned portions of the plant is completed as specified in AQS-FD policies and QFS SOPs.
  • Notify the Plant Manager, Superintendent or Supervisor of any product or process not meeting company standards to reduce the chance of product claims, required re-work or other things that reduce efficiency.
