About The Position

The Production Specialist will be required to operate, clean and keep in like new state all production related equipment in responsibility. The operator must be able to start up and shutdown all equipment according to established procedures or specifications and perform minor to major clearing of jams and downtime issues on the line. The operator must report any abnormal equipment function, or product problems to the Supervisor. The operator is responsible for the safe operations of all equipment, promptly report all incidents, injuries, or safety hazards. The operator is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area by utilizing all 5S cleaning and tools necessary to keep the area clean and clear of debris, yet neat and organized. The operator may be required to perform job tasks at different work times, on different work schedules, and in other departments dependent upon business needs. The operator will be required to work overtime as needed, and to provide line coverage during vacations, roving holidays and sick time to support their natural work team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Successful completion of the Abbott Operations test required.
  • Ability to communicate pertinent line information to production and support personnel.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Ability to document information on Batch Work orders.
  • Ability to adhere to product isolation procedures.
  • Ability to perform job tasks at different work times, on different work schedules, and in other departments.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to provide line coverage during vacations, roving holidays and sick time.
  • Ability to maintain an adequate supply of materials to the equipment in operation.
  • Ability to monitor supply usage and correct releases.
  • Ability to ensure that both products and materials are of proper identification, correct codes and expiration dates.
  • Accountable for complying with applicable FDA, GMP, OSHA and Abbott/Ross regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, clean, and maintain production equipment.
  • Start up and shut down equipment according to procedures.
  • Clear jams and resolve downtime issues on the production line.
  • Report abnormal equipment functions or product problems to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure safe operations of all equipment and report incidents, injuries, or safety hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area using 5S principles.
  • Perform job tasks in different work times, schedules, and departments as needed.
  • Work overtime as needed and provide line coverage for vacations, holidays, and sick time.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records (Production Counts, Material Usage/Losses).
  • Document information on Batch Work orders.
  • Adhere to product isolation procedures, sampling, and proper product identification.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of materials to the equipment and monitor supply usage.
  • Ensure products and materials have proper identification, correct codes, and expiration dates.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations applicable to the manufacture of pediatric and nutritional products.
  • Comply with applicable FDA, GMP, OSHA, and Abbott/Ross regulations, policies, procedures, or guidelines.
