Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating instructions and procedure manuals and manufacturing terminology.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports.
  • Ability to follow and understand verbal instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to other employees of the organization and respond to questions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percentages to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safe work practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Check all work orders for specific work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks with appropriate measuring devices.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork as required by ISO, GMP, HACCP.
  • Collect retains during hourly quality checks for Quality Control inspection.
  • Inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and professional look.
  • Perform random quality checks every 5 to 10 minutes to ensure product specifications.
  • Ensuring correct material, packaging supplies and quality control tools are being used.
  • Produce labels for cartons/spools.
  • Set up lines, troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Assign lot numbers as applicable.
  • Limit process scrap to a minimum.
  • Maintain line specifications.
  • Pull, clean, and insert extruder screw.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble extruder tooling; from the adapter to the pin and die.
  • Bring up the extrusion line.
  • Operate all pulling and cutting equipment.
  • Change cutter blades, bushings, and channels as necessary.
