About The Position

The Production Slicer Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to meet or exceed specified throughput, yield, and rework targets, adhering to all approved production and quality documentation. This role involves ensuring the correct product and materials are used, managing equipment setup and shutdown, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and verifying that machine process parameters and recipes are followed correctly. The operator will communicate any issues to their supervisor daily, cross-train new operators, ensure company practices are followed, and complete daily rework tasks. Accurate completion of necessary paperwork and maintaining a safe, hazard-free production environment are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense
  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
  • Must be able to reach, touch, grasp
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push
  • Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor
  • Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products
  • Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years hands on experience in manufacturing environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Check production schedule to ensure the correct product and materials are in the room
  • Responsible for setup and/or shutdown of equipment
  • Responsible that areas in room remain clean
  • Ensure machine process parameters are being followed
  • Ensure correct recipe are being used
  • Daily communication to supervisor of any problems that occur
  • Cross train new operators on machines
  • Ensure company practices and procedures are being carried out effectively
  • Ensure daily rework is being fulfilled
  • Correctly complete the necessary paperwork
  • Ensure that the production floor is a safe environment, free from hazards
