About The Position

Kanto Corporation is seeking a hands-on Production Shift Supervisor to oversee night shift operations in our high-purity chemical manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure that operators work safely, produce high-quality products, and meet or exceed productivity goals. You will coach and mentor operators, manage shift resources, and collaborate with other departments to keep production running smoothly. This role begins with a strong on-floor presence—observing processes, reinforcing culture, and leading by example. Over time, as systems and teams mature, the focus will shift to a more directive role—ensuring operators have what they need and that operational requirements are met to achieve world-class quality and maximum output.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED required).
  • 4+ years of industry experience (semiconductors or high-purity chemicals).
  • 3+ years as a Production Operator at Kanto or equivalent supervisory experience in other manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and inspire teams.
  • High attention to detail, solid decision-making skills, and clear communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Night Shift Operations
  • Manage operator assignments and priorities.
  • Conduct shift passdowns with other supervisors.
  • Oversee production floor scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress against efficiency and output goals.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance
  • Maintain a proactive safety culture and stop work when unsafe conditions arise.
  • Ensure PPE compliance, safe handling of chemicals, and adherence to cleanroom protocols.
  • Act as Emergency Coordinator during drills or actual events.
  • Maintain CPR, respirator, and HAZWOPER certifications.
  • Maintain Quality Standards
  • Enforce SOP adherence and cleanroom requirements.
  • Complete and review quality incident reports.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and Support Operators
  • Train, coach, and mentor operators for skills and “operator level-specific” certifications.
  • Manage attendance, breaks, and overtime according to policy.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recognize achievements.
  • Coordinate Across Departments
  • Partner with Quality, Warehouse, Logistics, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure materials, equipment, and tools are available and functional.
  • Submit and track maintenance requests.
  • Participate in inventory activities, including cycle counts, as needed.
