About The Position

The Production Shift Manager will lead all plant operations during their assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical manufacturing preferred)
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production setting
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and operational excellence principles
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment and work rotating shifts
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
- Background in chemical or process manufacturing industries
Responsibilities
- Lead all plant operations during assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met
- Supervise and develop union employees and team leaders through coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Manage workforce planning including scheduling, overtime, and resource allocation
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS and environmental standards
- Investigate production, safety, and quality incidents; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams to optimize plant performance
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support labor relations processes, including grievance handling and fact-finding sessions
- Ensure accurate administrative oversight, including time and attendance tracking
