About The Position

The Bernard Group is looking for an enthusiastic Set Up Specialist. You will be responsible for locating and setting up all job components (printed materials, hardware, cartons, tape, magnets, etc.) needed to run a project per ticket requirements. You will help the department transition smoothly between completing one job and setting up for the next job. This position is responsible for ensuring that the necessary PID inventory is available during the production and assembly processes and that for assembly, the materials are set up in a fashion to optimize the workflow so the assembly lines run most efficiently and effectively. This role provides support to production by providing accurate counts to ensure inventory systems are accurate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • Beginner knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Google Docs
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
  • Be accurate with the work assigned
  • Be accountable and reliable to get things done
  • Communicate effectively
  • Have a can-do attitude and do what it takes to get the job done
  • Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Be extremely organized and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Use data to resolve problems such as inventory shortages, vendor out-of-stock issues, and other related challenges
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Have strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization
  • Willing to admit when you make a mistake (it happens to the best of us)
  • Accurate with the work assigned
  • Adaptable and willing to wear whatever hat gets the job done

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing a plus
  • Forklift and reach truck experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Receive, transfer, and track raw materials and work-in-process (WIP) from production areas and accurately track it into TBG’s systems regarding quantities received and transferred
  • Follow up with the manager when needing to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Move materials from the incoming area to appropriate staging lanes or shelves
  • Set up all components on tables, skids, belts, etc. for the line to run smoothly and efficiently
  • Ensure awareness of large projects requiring inventory, ensure materials are available when needed, and facilitate special orders as needed
  • Organize and clean up all excess materials including consolidating pallets, tagging extra materials, and disposing of job waste
  • Update applicable systems with new counts and locations based on departmental best practices
