About The Position

The Production Scheduling Clerk is responsible for monitoring quote processes, scheduling work orders for production, and maintaining department schedules using current software. This role also involves participating in weekly department meetings, maintaining customer confidentiality, and planning and scheduling manufacturing products by work center. The clerk will monitor part groupings to ensure manufacturing release and work center dispatch lists reflect running like setups together. They will prepare and input data to update work center priority lists, identify and communicate issues with MRP planning and CRP databases, and communicate raw material needs to the purchasing department. Additionally, the clerk will monitor reports and deadlines for accuracy, communicate with departments regarding information needed to meet Sales Order Promise Dates, and perform core scheduling duties such as processing special work orders, work order assembly, and maintaining production files. The role also includes coordinating with the quality department for non-conformance product scheduling, ensuring proper specifications for repair work orders, and performing inventory control procedures, including assisting the manufacturing floor with inventory transactions, cycle counting, and physical counts. The Production Scheduling Clerk will also back up other scheduling departments and product lines as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Scheduling, production control, or MRP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor quote processes from sales to ensure quotes are completed on time.
  • Schedule work orders for production.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain department schedule using current software.
  • Participate and communicate needs during weekly department meeting.
  • Maintain confidentiality between all customers.
  • Plan and schedule manufacturing products by work center.
  • Monitor part groupings to make sure manufacturing release and work center dispatch lists reflect running like set ups together.
  • Prepare and input data to update work center priority lists.
  • Identify and communicate to Master Planner any problems with MRP planning and CRP data base outside of Truck Scale Manufacturing.
  • Identify and communicate to purchasing department, raw material needed for standard and special work orders.
  • Request raw material order status to ensure production and customer needs are met.
  • Monitor reports and deadlines for accuracy and communicate any incorrect information to Sales.
  • Follow up as needed to assure changes are made.
  • Communicate to departments as needed regarding information needed to meet the Sales Order Promise Dates.
  • Perform core scheduling duties such as processing of special work orders, work order assembly, maintenance of production files, routing changes on open work orders.
  • Ensure proper distribution of work orders to work centers when necessary.
  • Participate as a team member of Heavy Capacity Lean projects and annual Departmental Goals and Objectives (G&Os) as required.
  • Work with quality department to coordinate the scheduling of non-conformance product.
  • Ensure that proper specifications are communicated and completed for repair work orders.
  • Perform required inventory control procedures.
  • Assist manufacturing floor with inventory transactions, cycle counting, physical counts of work in process and finished goods.
  • Back-up for other scheduling departments and product lines based on business needs.
