About The Position

Polytainers is looking for an experienced Production Scheduler to join our Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, this role is responsible for developing and preparing daily production schedules, optimizing production resources to meet customer requirements, and completing projects as assigned by the Manager. The successful candidate will have strong finite production scheduling experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment and hands-on SAP experience in a production planning function. This is a full-time position with a Monday – Friday work schedule. Potential Hybrid after 3 months.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; college education is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing production control and/or finite scheduling experience within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on SAP experience in a production planning/scheduling function – REQUIRED.
  • Strong production planning and scheduling capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify capacity constraints, evaluate competing priorities and make effective scheduling decisions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP ePP/DS experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of injection molding and plastic printing technology is an asset.
  • Experience with pull inventory systems and MRPII systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute daily schedules to production supervision while balancing production efficiency and customer requirements
  • Monitor schedule attainment and follow-up significant concerns with production and/or management.
  • Review customer requirements in advance to detect potential problems in meeting customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely and efficient corrective action is taken to respond to issues that minimize the impact to the customer.
  • Continuously evaluate (and adjust if necessary) inventory buffers based on demand variability, desired customer service levels and process capabilities.
  • Proactively put measures in place to minimize total system obsolescence exposure.
  • Determine root cause(s) through solid problem-solving methodology to prevent recurrence of materials issues
  • Develop & maintain daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports to ensure resources/inventory are available to meet customer demand
  • Identify, report and recommend solutions on capacity restrictions for the purpose of proactive planning and elimination of bottlenecks that impact capacity planning.
  • Schedule and coordinate machine tools maintenance and/or overhauls with production and maintenance to ensure production goals are met.
  • Prepares “what if” scenarios for specific products on a “need to” basis.
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance and Sales on quality issues that affect deliveries
  • Communicate scheduling deviations with Customer Service, maintain up to date system files regarding new or changing master data
  • Participate in information exchange with other departments as necessary.
  • Complete special projects as required.
