About The Position

Gotion Illinois is seeking a proactive and hands-on Production Quality Supervisor. This individual will lead a team of quality inspectors and ensure all production processes adhere to Gotion’s quality standards and customer requirements. They will oversee quality activities on the production floor, ensure proper implementation of control plans, manage non‑conforming material processes, and drive continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, with leadership or supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Familiarity with Kaizen, CAPA, and DOE tools.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methods (SPC, FMEA, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and cross‑functionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with quality management software preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the battery or automotive manufacturing industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and schedule quality inspectors to ensure consistent execution of quality checks across all production shifts.
  • Monitor and enforce the implementation of the control plan on the production line, including inspection methods, frequency, standards, and corrective action requirements.
  • Collect and review production and quality data such as defect rates, return rates, and process capability indices (CPK, PPK, CMK).
  • Identify quality trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; escalate issues as needed and propose preventive measures.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Manage the non‑conforming product area and maintain required documentation, including disposition records and tracking ledgers.
  • Oversee rework and repair processes, ensuring proper instructions, execution, documentation, and testing verification.
  • Conduct regular inspections of each production process to identify gaps, compliance concerns, or quality risks and initiate improvement plans.
  • Perform layered process audits and ensure inspector performance aligns with quality and compliance expectations.
  • Develop, update, and maintain standard inspection guidelines and work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate quality activity records including inspection results, audit logs, and corrective action documentation.
  • Stay current with industry quality standards and manufacturing best practices; support optimization of the plant quality management system.
  • Provide on‑the‑floor coaching to production operators to reinforce quality awareness and standards.
