About The Position

Astranis is building the next generation of smaller, lower-cost telecommunications satellites to bring the world online. This role involves working with Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verification procedures, support root cause analysis and corrective actions, collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement, and support process and systems development. The intern will also develop dashboards, metrics, and visuals to monitor factory health. The company emphasizes a fast-paced environment, hands-on hardware work, and a mission to connect the world. Requirements

  • A passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be onsite 5 days a week
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required (To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or coursework experience in a similar role
  • Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure

Responsibilities

  • Work with Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verifications procedures
  • Support root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to mitigate non-conformance issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for continuous improvement in quality
  • Support process and systems development to improve production quality
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and visuals to help identify and monitor factory health

Benefits

  • Base pay of $29.00 per hour
