About The Position

This role is for a Production Process Supervisor in the Weld Department, working the 1st shift. The supervisor will be a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers manufacturing team, supporting the Director of Operations and Production Manager. The position involves supervising staff, organizing and monitoring workflow, acting as a quality inspector, serving as a safety coordinator, material handler, and trainer for their area of responsibility. A significant portion of the role (50%) includes direct labor within the area of responsibility.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Agricultural, or Industrial Engineering; Industrial Technology: Supply Chain; or another related field.
Three years' manufacturing experience.
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead and generate results through others.
Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.

Valid driver's license.
Strong customer orientation.

Responsibilities

Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintains staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring schedules; resolving problems, reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
Acts as the quality inspector for areas of responsibility; maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensures that all direct and indirect materials are readily available for production team members to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
Encourages production team members by helping to select, orient, and train employees; developing personal growth opportunities for team members.
Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answers questions and responds to requests.
Supports the HPT process.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Wears proper personal protective equipment.
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing relating results as needed.
Assists with the continuous improvement of XL Specialized Trailers by leading and participating in projects such as lean, 5-S and Kaizen.
Performs any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operations of XL Specialized Trailers.
