About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting unit engineers with process safety, continuous improvement, and data analysis. The intern will work on action items, troubleshoot issues, update critical process information, develop data visualization tools, and present findings to engineering and operations teams. The role requires a proactive and data-driven individual with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Support unit engineers in completing Process Safety action items, PHA recommendations, DHA recommendations, and associated closure activities.
• Select and execute continuous improvement projects from engineer improvement logs that can be completed during the internship, including troubleshooting issues, collaborating with Operations, updating procedures, and implementing practical solutions.
• Update and verify Process Safety Information (PSI), including Consequences of Deviation, Critical SOPs, and Tank Tables, ensuring information is validated against DCS data.
• Develop and enhance SEEQ trends and dashboards to support daily troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational decision making.
• Troubleshoot critical flow meters and instrumentation by reviewing ranges, verifying DCS configuration, and conducting field investigations with Operations personnel.
• Present project findings, recommendations, and results to the Engineering and Operations teams.
