About The Position

Nordson Industrial Coating Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Planning Specialist II to join its team. The Production Planner plans and maintains appropriate material levels to support the production schedule and meet customer-requested delivery dates. The role coordinates the introduction of new products into the factory and schedules production orders to support customer service, inventory efficiency, and asset utilization. It also provides consumption and forecast analysis for an assigned area, using the data to optimize inventory levels and delivery performance metrics.

The position works with engineering and production teams, responds to schedule and material changes, and performs required inventory and planning functions in SAP. Travel is minimal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of work experience, or 10 years of relevant work experience if no degree.
• SAP experience.
• Manufacturing work experience.
• Analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• APICS certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MRP reports and take appropriate action.
• Create and release production orders daily to achieve the production plan and customer-requested delivery dates.
• Create purchase requisitions daily to support the production plan and customer-requested delivery dates.
• Interact with engineering and production teams and provide feedback about upcoming work and potential material-availability issues.
• Schedule and reschedule production orders to mitigate changes.
• Plan materials and schedules for new products.
• Perform required SAP functions to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Modify safety stock as required.
• Continuously analyze product lead times and lot sizes.
• Level-load work centers whenever possible and communicate underload or overload conditions to shop-floor supervisors and the manager.
• Escalate material shortages based on the current build schedule.
• Conduct consumption and forecast analysis.
• Manage and calculate KPIs.
