About The Position

The Production Planning Lead is responsible for managing customer orders, translating sales orders into production schedules, and ensuring timely fulfillment and delivery of manufactured parts. This role involves ongoing customer service, tracking production progress, coordinating shipments, and providing crucial information to other departments like Purchasing. The lead will also perform inventory functions and is expected to be able to perform all planner functions, as well as supervise the planner(s).

Requirements

At least 2-years experience in a planning role in a manufacturing environment.
Significant experience in computerized customer demand portals is mandatory.
Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to translate complex and changing customer demands and communicate those demands internally as clear manufacturing plans and schedules.

Nice To Haves

Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Enter and review customer orders for fulfillment per TSI Form 058.
Review material requirements and translate sales orders into production schedules.
Send customer acknowledgements confirming delivery dates.
Perform ongoing customer service with assigned customers via phone and/or email.
Verify that the Planner releases appropriate jobs to the cage in a timely fashion to support on-time delivery.
Ensure travelers are properly closed before shipments.
Track the progress of parts through the manufacturing process.
Ship and track shipments, update production schedule, and run daily reports to assure on-time delivery.
Work with the Shipping Manager to ensure parts ship as required by TSI's due dates.
Expedite jobs if necessary with prior management approval.
Provide weekly backlog schedules to Purchasing concerning upcoming customer schedules for material ordering.
Upload TSI's inventory in customer's portal with prior Manager's approval.
Perform monthly inventory functions and gather data for WIP and Finished Good Reports.
Perform all the planner's functions.
Be responsible for the performance of the planner/planners.
Perform additional responsibilities within the department as assigned by your Manager.
Provide primary coverage during absence of the Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Manager.
